What is the condition of the posters for sale on this web site and what do I get with purchase?
Unless otherwise noted, each classic poster (Neon Rose series) offered here is in "vintage mint" condition (no pins holes, tears or folds). Note that there may be very minor edge wear and/or very light surface abrasion.
Each poster comes from the personal collection of Moscoso. Note that each copy can very slightly in color and registration. This is normal and was part of the printing process/technology when they were produced back in the 60s. Purchased posters will be selected with the best condition and registration possible from those available.
The more recent works (Siouxsie, Primus, Jump Sphinx, Starbucks and the 2008 FD re-issues) are in near-mint condition (Moscoso would only consider a poster "mint" if it had just come off the printing equipment and had not been handled).
For rare posters and original art, the condition varies. Inquire for more information.
Each poster comes signed by Moscoso (signature included in the purchase price).
How are posters shipped?
Each poster will be rolled up and sent in a heavy duty poster tube. The tube will generally be mailed USPS. Specific service can be selected at check out. Once a purchase is made, you will receive an email confirmation.
Poster price(s) does not include shipping cost. If multiple posters are purchased, they will typically be sent in the same shipping tube.
The shipping price will be calculated and added on at checkout.
Can I get my Moscoso artwork signed?
Victor handles this on a case by case basis. There is a minimum charge for this service. Email us for more information.
Can I purchase Moscoso original art?
Yes. There are a few offering on the Rare Posters and OA page. If there is something else you are interested in, please contact us and indicate what area of Moscoso's art that might be (classic posters, Zap Comix®, album art, etc.).
An example is the image on this page, which is a work up for a Zap Comix® panel.
Inquire here for more information.
How do I license the use of a Moscoso image?
See the bottom of the Home page (under the "Contact Us" section) for instructions.
Will Victor be making any public appearances?
Victor's only scheduled public appearance is at the annual TRPS Festival in San Francisco in October. Other appearances will be announced as scheduled (check our Facebook page).
What are "vibrating colors"?
The vibration in much of Victor's art is achieved by taking colors from the opposite end of the color wheel, each one having equal value (dark to light) and intensity (brightness). An example is red and green.
Because there is no break between the colors, your eye does not know which one to focus on as the colors ‘compete’. This effect only happens along the edges where these colors touch. Special inks are not needed and Victor uses standard printing inks for his work.
Vibrating colors should not be confused with neon or fluorescent colors, as these are entirely different color techniques, none of which are used by Victor.
Note: images used on this website were optimized to match the physical poster as best as possible. However, the color vibration, while close to the physical poster, is not exactly the same.
